Understanding human problem solving, improving quantum optimization

Why:

Actively manipulating quantum systems will create a wave of new technologies that will solve many of today’s challenges within e.g. quantum simulation of chemical reactions in drug and materials design. Crucial to these quantum technologies will be our ability to control quantum dynamics.

How:

We will introduce into quantum physics state-of-the-art computer science optimization methods including machine learning as well insights gained from studying human solving complex quantum problems.

What:

Quantum technologies hold the promise of a fourth industrial revolution that will offer novel solutions to grand challenges such as hunger and energy efficiency. In addition, our approach of citizen science empowers the global population by democratizing the scientific process.
