SYNTETHIC NANOBOTS TO OVERCOME PHYSICAL BARRIERS TO ENHANCE THERAPEUTIC EFFICACY

Why:

The first lines of defense of our body against disease-causing invaders are physical barriers. As successful as these defense barriers are in healthy humans, they are also a primary reason which prevents (nano)medicine from reaching its targets in an efficient manner.

How:

In this project, we will develop synthetic nanobots, i.e., colloidal assemblies with ability for self-propelled locomotion, to cross physical barriers in biological systems.

What:

Increasing the therapeutic efficacy  enhances the life quality of affected individuals, while reducing the economic burden to patients and governments. The innovative concepts are perfect as basis for future collaborations with pharma/food companies.
