Tracing the power flow in complex renewable energy networks Why: The transition to a clean future energy system is one of the main challenges for society. This research project aims to contribute to this endeavour by providing new analytical tools and methods for the system integration of renewable energies. How: New analytical tools will be developed, which integrate concepts from Theoretical Physics and the science of Complex Networks. Numerical simulations apply these methods to real-data-driven models of the electricity system. What: The newly developed scientific methods will be valuable for the design of a sustainable energy system and will inspire innovative concepts for future electricity markets.
