Processing Procedures

Shortly after submission of the application, the applicant will receive a receipt by email confirming that the Carlsberg Foundation has registered the application.

The applicant will be able to find a full application as one PDF file in the application system “CF-Grant”.

General processing of applications:

  • All applications are treated confidentially.
  • Applications are reviewed for compliance with the general and specific requirements described above.
  • If an application does not meet the general and specific requirements, the application will be rejected administratively.

Processing of applications, Spring:

  • Applications under the following funding instruments are reviewed solely by the board of the Carlsberg Foundation:
    • Internationalisation Fellowships
    • Visiting Fellowships at University of Oxford
    • Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Danish Institute at Athens (when offered)
    • Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Danish Institute in Rome (when offered)
  • The board of the Carlsberg Foundation makes the final decision on all applications.

Applicants will receive notification of the board’s decision in the form of either a grant letter or a rejection letter by mid-June.

Processing of applications, Fall:

  • Applications under the following funding instruments are reviewed solely by the board of the Carlsberg Foundation:
    • Internationalisation Fellowships
    • Visiting Fellowships at University of Oxford
    • Reintegration Fellowships
    • Monograph Fellowships
    • Research Infrastructure
    • Field Trips / Research Stays
  • Applications under the following funding instruments will in addition be reviewed by external experts:
    • Semper Ardens: Advance (when offered)
    • Semper Ardens: Accelerate
    • Semper Ardens: Accomplish (when offered)
  • The board of the Carlsberg Foundation makes the final decision on all applications.

Shortlisted Semper Ardens: Advance applicants will be invited for an interview with the board in late November. All applicants will receive notification of the board’s decision in the form of either a grant letter or a rejection letter by mid-December.
