The Culture of Environmental Law

Law and regulation relating to the environment has grown exponentially in volume and complexity. This growth has not, however, been accompanied by an understanding of how the law actually works, why it might not work and what its purpose is. This project delivers a conceptual background for environmental law anchored in a cultural understanding of law, recognizing the law’s inherent challenges.
