A monumental stucco mask has recently been discovered adorning one of the most important buildings at the ancient Maya site of Lamanai, in present-day Belize. This project will expose, document and conserve the fragile stucco mask, with the aim of identifying the supernatural entity that the mask depicts, to provide us with a clearer understanding of the function of this building in antiquity.
