Geologic maps document processes in the deep geologic past. Mapping might seem antiquated as a scientific discipline, but there is no better way, and mostly no other way to convey geologic information. We will make a high-resolution map and 3-D model of the oldest rocks formed at Earth’s surface and found in Greenland to help understand the mode of formation of Earth’s ocean, atmosphere and life.
