What?

Lasers are essential in scientific research, communications, healthcare, and entertainment. Polariton lasers, based on condensation of polaritons, half-light and half-matter quasiparticles, offer a groundbreaking energy-efficient alternative with future applications in areas like neuromorphic computing and quantum simulations.

Why?

However, critical challenges remain to bring this technology to practical use, including achieving room-temperature operation, enabling electrical pumping, and maintaining low operational thresholds.

How?

We will address these challenges using a smart molecular self-assembly platform of organic dyes. By integrating material design with ultrafast spectroscopy, we aim to uncover the underlying mechanisms and develop strategies to suppress energy losses, enable efficient polariton formation, and achieve charge injection, paving the way toward the first electrically driven organic polariton lasers.
