The Making of the Danish Public Sphere

The project will digitise all Danish periodicals from the advent of journals in the 18th century to the Constitution of 1849, when newspapers became the dominant medium. An open, searchable database of c. 200,000 pages will give researchers, students, and the public direct access to sources central to Denmark’s cultural and political history and the making of the public sphere.
