Summary

Denmark is about planting 250,000 ha new forests to increase its natural carbon sink. While land ecosystems often are carbon sinks, soils are strong greenhouse gas sources. We apply for a research infrastructure to measure the soil greenhouse gas balance, i.e. the balances of CO2, N20 and CH4 to support seven research projects from three Danish universities.
