My book is the first sustained philosophical study of the scientific publication process. I assess the various practices that contribute to the advancement of science, including, open access publishing, authorship norms, and pre-publication peer review. I also analyze a variety of threats to the advancement of science, including various forms of misconduct and questionable research practices.
