Purpose

The purpose of Reintegration Fellowships is to provide 2-year postdoctoral fellowships at Danish, Greenlandic, or Faroese research institutions for postdoctoral fellows returning from research stays abroad.

Who?

The applicant must be a postdoctoral fellow who has obtained a PhD degree from a Danish, Greenlandic, or Faroese research institution and has demonstrated a strong connection to Danish research.

Assistant professors are not eligible to apply for this type of grant.

As a general rule, only applicants who are abroad at the time of the application deadline are eligible to apply for this fellowship.

Applicants who, at the time of the application deadline, have more than 5 years of experience since obtaining their PhD degree are not eligible.

Documented periods of leave (e.g. parental leave, family care leave, illness, or military service) may be deducted from the applicant’s PhD age.

What?

The Carlsberg Foundation provides funding for the fellow’s full salary plus operating expenses of DKK 8,000 per month.

The operating expenses are at the postdoctoral fellow’s disposal to cover conferences, study trips, etc. and cannot be used to cover overhead costs, administration fees, or other costs to be covered by the project supplement.

Where there are special operating expenses related to the project, an additional DKK 60,000 can be applied for, provided that the expenses are specified in the budget form. These expenses may include, but are not limited to, laboratory access or procurement of instruments or apparatus.

Projects must start no earlier than 1 January 2027 and no later than 1 September 2027.

Shortly after submitting your application, the applicant will receive an e-mail confirming that the Carlsberg Foundation has received the application.

Applicants may review the complete application as an assembled PDF file in CF-Grant after submission. Applicants are strongly advised not to use DocuSign or similar digital signature tools on uploaded PDF documents, as these will interfere with the assembly of the final PDF file.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the assembled PDF document is correct and contains all required appendices and that the document is legible.

Submitted applications may be reopened and revised in CF-Grant until the application deadline.

During completion of the application in CF-Grant, applicants will be asked to provide a popularised scientific description directly in the online application form. The description must address “What”, “Why”, and “How” (up to 400 characters each).
