Processing of urgent applications

General

  • All applications are treated confidentially
  • Applications are reviewed by the foundation secretariat for compliance with the general and specific requirements
  • Failure to comply with the general and specific requirements will result in an administrative rejection of the application

Stage I

Expression of interest for urgent research projects are assessed by the Executive Management of the Carlsberg Foundation, with a focus on whether or not the three prerequisites are fulfilled. If these are not fulfilled, the application is rejected.

If the prerequisites are fulfilled, applicants are invited to submit a full application.

Applicants will receive the Executive Management’s decision in the form of either a rejection letter or an invitation to submit a full application within two weeks post-submission.

Stage II

Should applicants be invited to submit a full application, they must do so within two weeks of receiving the decision of the Executive Management.

The Carlsberg Foundation reserves the right to send applications in international peer review. The peer reviewers and their evaluation will be treated confidentially by the Foundation and is not shared with the applicant.

Full applications for the urgent research projects are assessed by the Board of the Carlsberg Foundation, who makes the final decision.

Applicants will receive the board’s decision in the form of either a grant letter or a rejection letter shortly thereafter, typically within one month.
