Resumé

Biological science has changed tremendously during the last decade, from a discipline focused on performing single, time-consuming experiment towards using methods and equipment that generate very large amounts of data. For example, it is now possible to sequence a human genome for about the same cost as buying an iPhone. It is not possible to analyze such data by hand: it has to be done with the help of powerful computer systems, including computational storage. Groups at The Bioinformatics, University of Copenhagen have been awarded a grant to allow them to upgrade their computational storage to continue their groundbreaking work in gene regulation, human and animal genetics and RNA biology.
