Resumé
Neurobiology Research at University of Southern Denmark is a laboratory with four research groups, all working to understand mechanisms of neurological diseases such as stroke, Parkinson's disease and brain inflammation (autoimmune encephalitis). All of our studies include the use of cultured human nerve cells. We share common laboratory facilities and equipment. This grant supports a so-called multi-electrode array (MEA) system which allows us to measure the electrical properties of cultured human nerve cells in a variety of disease states. We will thus be able to investigate detailed disease mechanisms and test potential novel treatments in neurological diseases that affect large number of patients in Denmark and world-wide.
