Old Textiles - More Possibilities

To mark 15 years of pioneering research, the Centre for Textile Research at the University of Copenhagen is organizing a 5-day conference (14-18/06/2021) that will bring together young researchers and confirmed scholars from its international network in a hybrid event. More than 100 speakers will share their work on an online platform through lectures, videos, and posters about the archaeology and history of textiles and textile production around the world. Themes include scientific techniques, production, reuse, funerary use, costume, textual and iconographical sources, sensory dimensions, and overall methodological approaches to textile studies. Together with our audience, we will celebrate the current diversity of textile research and open new horizons for future developments.
