Continuity and Change in the Legal Profession

This project consists of a one day workshop with leading experts of the legal profession aimed at producing a special issue on the most pressing topics that the legal profession is currently facing, such as its internal differentiation and stratification, internationalization, autocratization, gender segmentation, and digitalization. Understanding where the legal profession is heading is crucial to understand the future of liberal democracy, as historically lawyers have been key players in moderating the sovereign power and in setting policy change. By combining scholars in the field of law, political science, sociology, and managment this workshop will produce cutting edge knowledge on the challenges that the legal profession is facing in contemporary society.
