Resumé
Developing and emerging markets are set to be among the worst affected by climate change and have the most to gain from bold climate ambitions. They face several challenges caused by rapid economic development, including growing pollution levels and rising energy demand. However, both developing and emerging markets currently account for only 20 percent of global investment in clean energy. OECD estimates that over USD 1 trillion investments are needed by 2030 to meet net-zero emissions targets by 2050. This conference seeks to understand impacts for firms in and from emerging markets of sustainability, green transition and climate change and outline the private and public strategies that are needed to navigate these challenges.
