Resumé
Acknowledging the existing enforcement gaps under the Paris Agreement to support the achievement of climate goals, this conference will clarify how other areas of international law, in particular international human rights law and international investment law, can fill these gaps. More specifically, the conference addresses how the obligations imposed under these two areas of law can enhance State action in support of climate and sustainability goals. The expected outcome of this conference is the dissemination and discussion of cutting-edge research findings, including those featured in the edited volume 'Human Rights and Investment Law for Climate Change: Trends and Prospects' (forthcoming, Edward Elgar). Moreover, the conference will foster engagement with a broader set of stakeholders.
