Technology in Movement, Movement in Technology

Politics, especially political movements and contention, increasingly depends on tech-mediated communication nowadays, as we have seen in, e.g., the #MeToo movement and the Fridays For Future movement. Yet, contestation over the nature and degree of effectiveness of technology in movements and contention remains. This interdisciplinary international conference and PhD course advance such discussion with original, rigorous, and creative contributions that examine empirical, methodological, and theoretical issues regarding technology and movement/contention across the globe. Open to the general public, this event involves world-renowned, established, and junior scholars, students, and civil society organizations and sheds new light on our understanding of technology in politics and justice.
