Post-growth bureaucracies

Social and ecological sustainability can only happen if bureaucracies support a transformation of our societies. We need new rules to play by. The current economic system risks falling apart by prioritizing growth over other objectives, such as a better balance between social, environmental, and economic considerations. This two-day workshop brings together an international group of scholars working on these questions to ask whether "post-growth bureaucracies" exist and how they might better aid sustainability transitions. The planned outcome of the workshop is a special issue submitted to a highly regarded journal in the area of public administration and political science.
