Research Stay, Harvard University

The grant covers a research stay at Harvard University, where I will be an Associated Fellow and collaborate with scholars from the Sensory Ethnography Lab (SEL), and the Harvard Film Studies Centre (FSC), world-leading institutions in multimodal, digital, and audio-visual research and dissemination. The pivotal analytical tenet is to investigate the intersection between immersion and evocation, drawing nearer to an understanding of their synergic potential to a new multimodal anthropology. This is accomplished through analytical experiments in editing and juxtaposition of empirical material and data in the form of film, sound recordings, and text material from three of my multimodal research projects: 'Reframing History', 'Departed', and 'Tales of a Nomadic City'.
