Archaeological Expedition to Yaxchilan, Mexico

This project aims to recover and analyse cave formations that have been found at the ancient Maya site of Yaxchilan, in Mexico. These analyses will shed light not only on the use of these formations in ancient rituals celebrated at the site, but will tell us about the changing environment in the centuries leading up to the abandonment of Maya cities in the tenth century.
