Rethinking the rural North through environmental literature, film, and TV

While in the short film Something about Scandinavia from the 1950s resource extraction is presented as the engine of rural development, today, the view of rural areas as a resource for human use has come under scrutiny. With our conference we seek to investigate the multiple dimensions of contemporary literature, film, and television engaged with today’s rural landscapes troubled by human impact.
