Biosensor instrument for ligand interactions of membrane proteins

Living cells are fueled by small molecule nutrients and communicate through chemical signals, which require these molecules to associate with membrane proteins. It is currently difficult or impossible to measure such interactions for membrane proteins. This project will acquire a new instrument that can measure interactions of membrane proteins with small molecules such as nutrients and hormones.
