The publication Palmyra in Perspective is the result of the concluding conference of the Palmyra Portrait Project, funded by the Carlsberg Foundation. It highlights recent research conducted on Palmyra as well as the potential of the material in the future, and it showcases the importance of archival material and historiographic research for the understanding of historical developments in Palmyra.
