Building the state with information 1660-1848

The project aims to present new knowledge about state building as interactions between state and people through circulation, exchange, and translation of information. The project wants to understand how information practices such as gathering, organizing, and storing created and transformed information from people's everyday information into state information: information actionable for governing.
