Micro-foundations of the Great Transformation. From commercial to industrial capitalism, 1750s-1850s

The project examines in a new perspective how entrepreneurs and society navigated and facilitated the “Great Transformation” from commercial to industrial capitalism in the early 19th century. It explores the dynamic relation of entrepreneurship, agency, and institutional change at the regional micro-level and will enhance our understanding of deep economic, social, and cultural transformation.
