State of the art apparatus for the analysis of Ancient Polychromy

The project will, with the aid of state-of-the-art apparatus, analyse the paint traces on ancient sculptures for thus to yield new insights for their interpretation and preservation. The new equipment makes it possible to analyse remains of colour far more precisely than previously, allowing us to address new, key scientific questions, which can change our understanding of the colours of Antiquity.
