Current quantum metasurfaces that generate and manipulate quantum light are typically passive devices, which limits their practical applications. To overcome this limitation, I propose integrating wide-bandgap phase-change materials with quantum emitter interfaces to create a dynamic quantum metasurface platform capable of actively tuning quantum states.

Hvorfor?

The controlled generation and dynamic manipulation of photonic quantum states are central to quantum technologies. However, most existing quantum metasurfaces are passive, highlighting the need for developing dynamic quantum metasurfaces capable of molding quantum light in both space and time. Such advancements could open new possibilities for active and intelligent quantum light sources.

Hvordan?

By integrating deterministic quantum emitters - specifically group IV color centers in nanodiamonds - with dynamic metasurfaces made from wide-bandgap phase-change materials, I aim to develop an optically driven dynamic quantum metasurface platform. This platform will enable room-temperature generation and continuous space-time control of single photons and entangled multiple quantum states.
