Hvad?
The AI Opportunity Observatory (AI-OO) will empirically investigate how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming labor markets, focusing on socioeconomic inequality. The project aims to uncover how AI creates opportunities and challenges at the level of workers, firms, and regions in several European countries, identifying the “winners” and “losers” of the AI revolution.
Hvorfor?
The rapid adoption of AI technologies like ChatGPT offers the potential for innovation and economic growth but raises concerns about increasing economic inequality and political polarization. Therefore, the project proposes research that will inform policy-makers and help workers and firms adapt, enabling them to seize the opportunities that AI offers.
Hvordan?
The project will build a comprehensive dataset on AI-related skills and AI adoption by combining data from job vacancies, career platforms, and surveys. It will employ data science methods to better understand the complex relationships between AI and labor markets. An interactive online dashboard will help communicate the key findings to a broad audience.
