Hvad?

This project investigates how giant landslides, triggered by the retreat of ancient ice sheets, reshape landscapes in previously glaciated regions like Denmark. By analyzing these previously unrecognized processes, we aim to understand their role in transforming terrain after glaciers retreat.

Hvorfor?

Understanding landslides' role in landscape evolution is crucial, especially with climate change accelerating ice melt and landslide risks in vulnerable regions. The insights gained will improve predictions of future terrain changes and associated hazards, benefiting both scientific research and public safety.

Hvordan?

We will combine advanced geomorphological mapping and high-resolution geophysical techniques to study landforms and subsurface structures. By mapping these features and integrating data from drilling campaigns, the project will refine current models of landscape evolution and landslide dynamics.
