Publication: Formen der Ambivalenz - Familienähnlichkeiten bei Grillparzer, Stifter und Kafka

This book investigates a specific style of thought in the literary works of F. Grillparzer, A. Stifter and F. Kafka as ‘family resemblances’ (Wittgenstein). The prominence of ambivalence and a strategy of negation and reduction in their writing is understood in light of the transcultural context of the Habsburg Empire and as a critical reflection on the pursuit of order in the modern project.
