Hvad?

AIR-REPAIR researches and develops new flying robots to tackle challenges related to infrastructure repairs. These robots are designed to be smart and adaptable, changing their shape and capabilities depending on the surrounding environment to automatically perform maintenance tasks like tightening bolts or replacing parts on infrastructure in difficult-to-reach locations.

Hvorfor?

Our essential infrastructure, such as power lines and bridges, is getting older and facing new challenges from climate change and increased electricity use. This means more repairs are needed to keep things running. Current drones mostly just observe from a distance, but AIR-REPAIR aims to create flying robots that can physically interact with the environment and perform repairs.

Hvordan?

AIR-REPAIR merges robot perception, control, and design with expertise in novel mechatronics and adaptable flying robotics. By combining advanced sensors, smart computing techniques, and state-of-the-art AI methods with clever mechanical designs, these flying robots will be able to precisely interact with structures and overcome challenges like weight limits and unpredictable forces during flight.
