This book explores the cooking traditions of Mesopotamia, from the first villages of the Neolithic to the empires of the Iron Age. I draw from a range of archaeological, historical, and scientific data, which together provide a comprehensive overview of current knowledge on food practices, from preparing daily meals to organising the "culinary theatre" of royal feasting.
