At home without a home: children in transitional homes in Denmark, 1885–1920 (ChildHomes)

A home without a home (ChildHomes) will provide a database documenting the life trajectories of children growing up in extreme poverty and institutional care in Denmark at the turn of the 20th century as well as a matched comparison group. The project seeks to help researchers understand the long-term effects of childhood vulnerability in a period of rapid urbanization and institutionalization.
