Resumé

We will use this isotope ratio mass spectrometer to explore oxygen production in aquatic ecosystems, where sunlight does not reach and photosynthesis is impossible. By tracing stable isotope fingerprints, we aim to uncover hidden novel microbial pathways that generate oxygen. This work will quantify these overlooked processes that may shape ocean health and influence greenhouse gas cycling.
