The workshop is interdisciplinary between economics of education and mathematics education. Lack of basic and advanced mathematics skills is a major constraint for productivity in society. We will discuss key aspects including: development of number sense and arithmetic strategies, effects of arithmetic strategies on math skills, math learning difficulties, math gender gap and STEM education.
