In the book “Local Elections” a diagonally view is applied, looking at the same time at the vertical relation to parliamentary elections and to the horizontal variation across local governments. The book introduces measures such as inter-level split-thinking, local party system nationalization and municipal-parliamentary turnout gap and applies these on a unique dataset from Denmark.
