This conference brings together artists and scholars to explore slavery as a historical and contemporary phenomenon with the aim of changing its future. Privacy may seem a distant concept to enslaved people both past and present but this does not mean that enslaved people simply submit to doing without it. When does privacy contribute to the enslavement of people, and when does it resist it?
