In the eighteenth-century, the study of ancient cultures prompted multicultural, multilingual, exchanges across national borders. In Europe, it helped formulate local heritages and national identities, as well as fortifying imperial agendas. "Networks of Antiquity" will address how an intranational dialogue about the past shaped Europe's self-perception and how they positioned themselves globally.
